We're Good to Go

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back and have everything in place so you have the best day out.

We’ve been accredited with the ‘Good to Go’ stamp of approval, which means we are operating within government guidelines and public health guidance for managing coronavirus risk.

We’re continuing to monitor the number of people on site and have a booking system in place - we would encourage you to pre-book your visit to guarantee your place and lessen the time spent indoors.

We are also encouraging visitors to continue to wear a face covering in all indoor spaces. Doors are either open already or can be can be pushed open, with hand sanitising stations available around the site. Our toilets are open and cleaned regularly. All touch point surfaces in the centre and main hide are cleaned regularly by our team.

Arriving

When you arrive, have a chat to our friendly team of volunteers and staff who are there to answer any questions you may have and to ensure you have a fantastic day out. To limit touch points and keep you safe we're asking everyone to pay by card in the shop and cafe.

If you want to beat the queues why not arrive a little earlier in the day. We are open 10am - 4pm daily.

Wildlife hides and spotting

All of our hides are now open (except Reedbed hide), as well as the summer walk and from Mon 19 July the Lady Fen Hare Walk route. Summer is an amazing time to discover wetland wildlife and you can see a fantastic array of wildlife from the footpaths, from insects to wildflowers.

Now is the best time of year to get an appreciation for dragonflies and damselflies, these incredible insects are on the wing in the biggest numbers now. Check out our guide to dragonflies and damselflies to get a taste before your arrive - dragonflies and damselflies.

For young nature enthusiasts we have explorer backpacks available to borrow with bug hunting and bird watching kit, our pond dipping stations are open and have equipment provided. Once summer holidays begin you can try your hand at owl pellet disecction or check the moth trap with an expert (Wednesdays only) as part of wetland explorers event.

Eat, drink, shop

We have a selection of take away hot and cold snacks, drinks and ice creams available from our cafe for you to enjoy on-the-go to fuel your wetland adventure (11am - 2pm). Outdoor seating is available. You’re also welcome to bring your own food and drink.

The retail shop is open offering a gorgeous selection of gifts, fun toys, informative books and good value bird food and feeding accessories (10am - 4pm).
