WWT Caerlaverock is a spectacular 1,400 acre wild reserve situated on the north Solway coast, boasting a rich and varied tapestry of habitats and species.
Map of WWT Caerlaverock
Our site map gives a sense of what species might occur in which areas but the truth is that Caerlaverock is a wild wetland. Nobody tells the swans which pond is best today, schedules the boxing of brown hares or knows exactly when a hen harrier will sweep over the saltmarsh.
What we can guarantee is the best selection of hides in any Scottish nature reserve, a rich and varied mosaic of habitats and some fine spots to enjoy a picnic as the wildlife does its thing.
