There is a 15% discount on the entrance price if you cycle to WWT Caerlaverock.

When is WWT Caerlaverock open?

We are currently open three days a week, Thursday to Saturday, from 10am to 5pm (last admission at 4pm). The site will be closed to all visitors (including members) on Sunday through to Wednesday. We will be increasing our opening days as we move into Autumn. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates regarding this.

Entry prices

Prices below are shown inclusive of Gift Aid and without. The Gift Aid admission price includes a voluntary donation, which enables us to claim the tax back as part of the Government's Gift Aid scheme.

As part of the Government's Great British Summer Savings Scheme, the admission prices shown below apply from 25 June to 1 September 2026.

Food and drink

Tea, coffee, and water are available for a donation in the Visitor Centre. While our centre is not operating a café or shop, we encourage you to use our picnic area and seating in the Visitor Centre to eat your own refreshments.

Is the visitor centre open?

The visitor centre is open Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm, for admissions to the wetland reserve, for members and paying visitors. You will be able to find out information about the reserve and your visit in the centre. Last admission at 4pm. You are also welcome to use the visitor centre to shelter and enjoy your own refreshments and packed lunches.

All our Wetland Centres exist to fulfil founder Peter Scott's vision of connecting people with nature, so we make it a principle that our wetlands and wildlife are accessible to everyone.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, we can't allow dogs or pets of any kind on site, with the exception of trained assistance dogs, as our wildlife may become distressed. Trained assistance dogs are welcome but must be kept on their lead and under control at all times. Please ensure any dog waste is removed. If any of our birds/animals behaviour is affected by the presence of your dog, we respectfully ask that you understand that we may have to ask you to move away from the area.
