Firecrest singing in wildside 19th May 2020

Firecrest spotted with Goldcrests in willow scrub. Reed Buntings, Reed Warblers and Sedge Warblers all breeding on the reserve

Amphibians: 30+ Marsh Frog singing in wildside ponds (19th May).

Reptiles: 46 slow worm, 3 common lizard, 4 grass snake (12th May transect).


Dragonflies: Common Blue Damselfly, Small Red-eyed Damselfly, Hairy Dragonfly (photo below), Emperor Dragonfly, Large Red Damselfly, Broad-bodied Chaser (mid-May).


Butterflies: Green Hairstreak, Orange Tip, Peacock, Small Tortoishell, Brimstone, Red Admiral, Speckled Wood, Large White, Small White, Green-veined White, Holly Blue (photo below), Common Blue (May).
