Begin your day out at London Wetland Centre in the Peter Scott Visitor Centre, named after the founder of WWT.

Our courtyard display gives you a history of the centre and wildlife highlights from the past decade while the two-storey, heated viewing Observatory with panoramic views over the reserve is the perfect place for bird watching. We supply fixed telescopes in the Observatory so there’s no need to have your own.

Make sure you don’t miss the gallery (above the shop) to see our occasional photographic displays and watch a 10 minute documentary about our history and wildlife. This short film explains how WWT created the London Wetland Centre from four disused Thames Water reservoirs, planting over 27,000 trees and 300,000 plants in the process.

Our Discovery Centre is the ideal place for children to learn about the wonders of wetlands – or simply to enjoy splashing about on the water games. Adults can also learn more about wetlands from the film showing in our theatre.

You can also sample the delights of our cafe and shop.
