Join Bath-based artist Jessica Palmer to explore Steart Marshes through watercolour, pen and pencil
Date: Tuesday 18th August
Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm or 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Cost: £10 suggested donation to support our work, booking is essential
Create a set of sketches in one long concertina book to form a Saltmarsh panorama. We will use watercolour wash and pen/pencil to capture impressions of a marsh-scape. Each section will be a snapshot view - making up a panorama of the saltmarsh on the day you visit – whatever the weather.
This workshop is suitable for all. No drawing or painting experience necessary. All materials provided. This is fun for adults or for families working together in the sketchbook.
Please note – we recommend wearing sturdy boots and dressing for the weather as we will also be working outdoors amongst nature. A bottle of water, suncream and sunhat are also advised.
Where to meet: In the main WWT car park at Steart Marshes, Stert Drove, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 2PU.

About the artist:
Jessica' work combines papercutting, collage, ink and watercolour painting in mixed media, bringing together her origins as an illustrator and her paper artistry. She is sometimes described as “the 21st Century Mary Delany” for her papercut and paper-layered botanical and nature imagery. Her commissions have included Disney Pixar, English Heritage, National Trust, a range of national/international museums and festivals. Wetland Spring was a recent exhibition at Victoria Art Gallery in Bath in partnership with WWT.
