Sketching the Marsh: A creative nature walk
Explore Steart Marshes through a creative, sketch-led walk
Slow down and see the marshes in a new way on this relaxed, sketch-led walk with local paper artist and commercial illustrator Sam Pierpoint.
Date: Saturday 8th August
Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm or 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Cost: £10 suggested donation to support our work, booking is essential.
During this two-hour creative session, we’ll explore the wide skies, tidal creeks, grasses and birdlife of Steart Marshes, pausing along the way to draw and observe. With gentle prompts and simple techniques, Sam will guide you to capture texture, movement and atmosphere - no experience needed.
This workshop is about noticing rather than producing perfect artwork. Whether you’re completely new to drawing or looking to reconnect with your creativity, you’re warmly welcome. All materials will be provided.
Please note - we will be working outside on the nature reserve, so dress accordingly, sturdy shoes are recommended.
Where to meet: In the main WWT car park at Steart Marshes, Stert Drove, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 2PU.
