The late-March Water Rail survey found 10 calling birds across the reserve- reedbed, reservoir lagoon, main lake, sheltered lagoon and wildside.

Dunnock, Wren, Robin, Cetti's Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Great Tit and Reed Bunting are all singing across the reserve from every patch of scrub and hedgerow.
