Situated amidst the vibrant city of London, our wetland sanctuary is a breathtaking mosaic of habitats that provides a haven for a diverse range of dragonfly and damselfly species.
Dragonfly Hotspots are special places, carefully chosen by the British Dragonfly Society because they support a good variety of dragonfly and damselfly species, are easy to access, and can provide opportunities for local communities to learn about dragonflies. Within the serene landscapes of the London Wetland Centre, you'll encounter 26 exquisite species of dragonflies and damselflies. Among them, the Norfolk Hawker, once limited to East Anglia, now thriving within our wetland sanctuary.
