Queer Ecology Walks
Celebrate The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia with a guided Queer Ecology Walk discovering nature’s diversity.
Back by popular demand, and in celebration of this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT), join ecologist Connor Butler for a guided nature walk exploring the fascinating and unusual lifecycles of the plants and animals right outside your doorstep.
Connor will help you discover the diversity in nature, from birds and insects to plants, and inspire a fresh perspective on what we consider “natural.” Expect curiosity, wonder, and a new appreciation for the smallest details in the natural world.
The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) takes place on 17 May each year and is a global moment of solidarity and visibility for LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities. It’s a perfect day to celebrate kindness, inclusion, and equality while standing against discrimination, and to enjoy experiences that inspire and uplift.
Described as a “Queer ecologist with a decade of experience connecting people with nature,” Connor has spent the past year studying dung beetles in London’s parks and encourages everyone to take time to appreciate the unusual and wonderful diversity of life.
This gentle walk around the wetland invites all curious minds interested in seeing nature from a new perspective.
