Great winter birding with 4 Water Pipit, 2 Jack Snipe, 9 Snipe, Goldeneye, 3 Shelduck and Bittern just some of the highlights on site this morning.

December bird highlights: Jack Snipe, Bittern, Goldeneye, Yellow-legged Gull, Pintail, Water Rail, Caspian Gull, Stonechat, Skylark, Water Pipit, Lesser Redpoll, Chiffchaff.


Amphibians: Smooth Newt found on 20th December (not usually seen until the spring).

Unseasonally early flowering plants: Marsh Marigold, Cowslip, Ragwort, Daisy.
