Café and kiosks closure

1 Bittern - main lake (took a flight around the lake before landing on island 21)

2 Shelduck - main lake

2 Peregrine - landed on main lake island after flying across the river

1 Goldeneye - main lake

2 Pintail - reservoir lagoon

6 Snipe - grazing marsh, wader scrape

4 Water Rail - calling from the main reedbed and wildside

1 Water Pipit - grazing marsh

1 Kestrel - entrance lake

December bird highlights: Jack Snipe, Bittern, Goldeneye, Yellow-legged Gull, Pintail, Water Rail, Caspian Gull, Stonechat, Skylark, Water Pipit, Lesser Redpoll, Chiffchaff.

Amphibians: Smooth Newt found on 20th December (not usually seen until the spring).

Unseasonally early flowering plants: Marsh Marigold, Cowslip, Ragwort, Daisy.
