Wildlife sightings for 16th October 2025
Glossy Ibis on east-side of marsh. Lots of migration action overhead plus birds feeding on the reserve
1 Glossy Ibis - marsh (field 13)
2 Stonechat - scrape, marsh
2 Blackcap - south route (song garden area)
12 Chiffchaff - reedbed, wildside, sheltered lagoon, south route, world wetlands
40+ Redwing - wildside and south route, plus many birds migrating overhead
20 Song Thrush - over N+S plus birds feeding on south route berries
29 Siskin - over S+N plus birds in wildside and sheltered lagoon
27 Redpoll - very mobile flock mostly around wildside
8 Meadow Pipit - few birds feeding on the marsh, plus over N
1 Kingfisher - scrape
15 Water Rail - site survey (birds present across whole site)
2 Kestrel - entrance area/overflow car park
1 Sparrowhawk (male) - hunting over marsh
