Wildlife sightings for 21st July 2024

1 Bittern - main lake N shore (Dulverton Hide)

2 Common Sandpiper - main lake

3 Green Sandpiper - main lake, scrape, marsh

3 Black-tailed Godwit - main lake

2 Common Tern + 2 juvs - main lake

17 Mandarin - reservoir lagoon, world wetlands

14 Shoveler - main lake

6 Teal - main lake, reservoir lagoon

27 Pied Wagtail - main lake

100+ Starling - marsh

Sedge Warblers, Cetti's Warblers and Reed Warblers can be found in the reedbed, any reed fringes and scrubby edges of the marsh, reservoir lagoon and main lake. Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs are active in the scrublands of wildside, south route and sheltered lagoon.

Dragonflies: (July surveys) Norfolk Hawker, Emperor, Black-tailed Skimmer, Lesser Emperor, Common Darter, Small red-eyed Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, Red-eyed Damselfly, Azure Damselfly, Willow Emerald Damselfly.

Butterflies: (July surveys) Comma, Brimstone, Large White, Small White, Green-veined White, Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper, Marbled White, Speckled Wood, Red Admiral, Large Skipper, Small Skipper, Essex Skipper, Small Copper.
