Wildlife sightings for 6th July 2025

The most recent Sand Martin ringing found that 95 nest chambers were occupied in the nesting bank.
Breeding bird survey 30/5 (singing birds) - Cetti's Warbler (15), Reed Warbler (60), Sedge Warbler (4), Chiffchaff (6), Blackcap (8), Reed Bunting (5), Song Thrush (4), Blackbird (8), Dunnock (10).
Butterflies and dragonflies (mid-June) - Large Skipper, Essex Skipper, Peacock, Red Admiral, Brimstone, Small White, Green-veined White, Large White, Marbled White, Comma, Speckled Wood, Holly Blue, Common Blue, Small Heath, Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Azure Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, Red-eyed Damselfly, Small red-eyed Damselfly, Banded Demoiselle, Hairy Dragonfly, Black-tailed Skimmer, Four-spotted Chaser, Broad-bodied Chaser, Norfolk Hawker, Emperor, Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker.
