Wildlife Sightings for 24th April 2026

Black Redstart seen on the marsh fence line, as well as two Whinchat. Whitethroat singing by the wader scrape hide.

Increasing Swift numbers over site. Four Green Sandpiper moving between the marsh and wader scrape.

23 April 2026

3 Green Sandpiper and 7 Yellow Wagtail on the marsh. 3 Snipe and 1 Greenshank on the scrape this morning. First Hobby of the year over site.

22 April 2026

Pair of Shelduck on the main lake. Snipe and Green Sandpiper on the marsh.

21 April 2026

Wheatear on the wader scrape bank. Swifts seen over the main lake. Plenty of Reed and Sedge Warblers singing across site.

20 April 2026

Dunlin and Common Sandpiper on the main lake. Pair of Shelduck on the reservoir lagoon. Redstart by the sheltered lagoon.

Lesser Whitethroat seen by the cafe. Dunlin seen from WWF hide. First Swift seen over the main lake.

Cuckoo, Grasshopper Warbler and Whitethroat all singing this morning

Nightingale singing on the south route and Grasshopper Warbler again on the north shore of the main lake.

White Stork flying over site again. Two Snipe and a Little Egret feeding on the marsh.

White Stork over site. Peregrine and Buzzard hunting over site.

Some Swallows and House Martins over site. Wheatear and Kingfisher on the marsh.

Two Little Egret and a Wheatear on the marsh, and a Sedge Warbler singing from the marsh north shore.

Yellow Wagtail seen on the main lake. A few Swallow feeding over the water amongst the Sand Martins.
