Chilean flamingos off show

Our Chilean flamingo flock is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to avian influenza (bird flu). We will let you know as soon as they are safe to be outdoors. Thank you for your understanding.

Flock of siskin and a lone bittern

A fabulously festive flock of fifty siskin were spotted congregating fleetingly down at the amphibian ponds this morning. Flippin’ fantastic!

Also, I’ve been told that a beautiful bittern flew west over Top Meadow yesterday. We had a male in our river reedbed a couple of winters ago. Could he be back!?
