Chilean flamingos

Our flock of Chilean flamingos is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to local avian influenza (bird flu).
We don't know how long this will last but we'll let you know as soon as they are safe to be back outdoors!

Wader Lake AM low tide:

15 redshank

58 lapwing

10 teal

12 mallard

6 shoveler

18 black-headed gull

 

Hawthorn Wood feeding station:

Coal tit, great tit, nuthatch, bullfinch, robin.

 

Other birds:

8 redwing on East Down

1 treecreeper, 3 wren and 1 blackcap at Spring Gill

2 cormorant, 2 grey heron and 1 mute swan on the River Wear
