Chilean flamingos

Our flock of Chilean flamingos is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to local avian influenza (bird flu).
We don't know how long this will last but we'll let you know as soon as they are safe to be back outdoors!

Wildlife sightings - 14/02/18

Wader Lake (AM, low tide):

Curlew 200 (flew off and headed west at 8.10am)

Shoveler 19 (15 male and 4 female)

Grey heron 4

Kestrel 1 (male)

Gadwall 2 (a pair)

Stock dove 3

Lapwing 29

Shelduck 28

Black-headed gull 250+

Wigeon 2 (a pair)

Herring gull 2

 

Saline lagoon (AM, low tide):

Hawthorn Wood feeding station:
