Chilean flamingos

Our flock of Chilean flamingos is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to local avian influenza (bird flu).
We don't know how long this will last but we'll let you know as soon as they are safe to be back outdoors!

Wader Lake (AM, mid-tide):

Avocet 3

Ruff 1

Black-headed gull 4

Common tern 3

Saline Lagoon:

Redshank 15

 

Hawthorn Wood:

Great-spotted woodpecker 1

Jay 1

Blue tit 5

Great tit 4

Bullfinch 6

Chaffinch 5

 

Other locations:

Whitethroat in the gully 1 adult and 1 juvenile

Black cap (2), chiffchaff (1) and reed bunting (2) in Wader Lake scrub

Swift over site

 

Amphibians:

Common toad in the filter reedbed

 

Invertebrates:

Red admiral, wall brown, speckled wood and peacock butterflies

 

Flora:

Water mint

Water forget-me-not

Purple loosestrife
