Chilean flamingos

ℹ️ Flamingos off show
Our flock of Chilean flamingos is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to local avian influenza (bird flu).
We don't know how long this will last but we'll let you know as soon as they are safe to be back outdoors!

Wader Lake (AM, high tide):

Grey heron 4 (2 in hedge)

Mallard 98

Eurasian teal 83

Common buzzard 1 (flying over, heading North East)

Saline lagoon:

Hawthorn Wood feeding station:

Willow tit 1

Great tit 4

A greater black-backed gull feeding on a dead pheasant on the river

A male kingfisher in the gully

A ferruginous duck in the white-headed duck pen

A great-spotted woodpecker calling in Spring Gill Wood

Lesser redpoll in the hawthorn scrub at the duckery 9

Tufted duck on the reservoir 42

Tree sparrow on the centre feeders 5

Emerging flora - snowdrops near the gully/compost toilet and bluebells, snowdrops, ramsons and lords-and-ladies in Hawthorn Wood and fungi - velvet shank fungi on a willow tree in the gully.
