Wader Lake was fairly quiet this morning, with a lone Common Snipe seen probing the mud in front of Diageo Hide. Along the lake footpath, an abundance of songbirds were seen and heard. Finches, Warblers, Blackbirds, Wrens, Robins and flocks of Tits begin to forage on berries from our tree lines as insects become less abundant, building up fat reserves for the cold winter months or long migratory journeys. Jays were seen foraging on Lagoon Meadow and Spring Gill, also preparing for the winter by caching food around site.
