Help unlock the superpowers of wetlands
A message from David Gray
I’m excited to be partnered with WWT, the charity for wetlands and wildlife, to support them in their mission to create and restore 100,000 hectares of wetlands by 2050.
Wetlands have remarkable superpowers. They soak up carbon from the atmosphere; a newly created saltmarsh can capture carbon at a rate 40 times faster than rainforests! They also help to protect communities against flooding, improve water quality and provide a vital haven for 40% of the world’s wildlife and plants.
As a musician, it’s important to acknowledge the significant impact that the music industry has on the environment. That includes touring as well as the environmental cost of audiences moving to and from shows. Trying to help nature while building a more sustainable approach to live music is something I feel incredibly passionate about, and taking good actions for nature is a vital step forwards for individuals and society as a whole.
As a WWT Ambassador, I’m proud to champion the superpowers of wetlands, and support the charity to find ways to make sure we create even more and even better wetlands, which can help us in the fight against the climate and nature crises.
Your donation today will contribute directly to two projects that will create and restore wetland habitats in local communities in the UK. Every donation is a step in the right direction - a win for nature and a win for the climate too!

Wetlands are amazing
Together with singer-songwriter David Gray, WWT, the charity for wetlands and wildlife, is on a mission to create and restore 100,000 hectares of wetlands in the UK.
Wetlands are weapons of mass creation, offering a solution to both the climate and nature crises. These magical habitats soak up carbon from the atmosphere, protect communities from flooding, boost our moods and provide homes for 40% of the world’s wildlife and plants.
