Daily sightings
A fantastic sunny day here at Welney today, perfect light for enjoying the iridescent colours of all our winter visitors like lapwing, teal, wigeon and pintail.
Elsewhere on site were:
10 goldeneye - 6 female and 2 male
670 black-tailed godwit
12+ dunlin
11 bean geese
10 hares on todays hare walk
Also keep an eye out in the mornings around friends hide for lingering Bewick's swans, and we had reports yesterday of some bearded tits near the main observatory north wing.
Reedbed hide remains closed due to flooding but Friends hide is now re-open....for now but water levels are coming back up following a few high tides.
