December Wetland birds count (WeBS)
Today Louise and Katy from the reserves team went out and counted all the wetland birds currently at WWT Welney this involves a 13 mile walk all the way around the 1000 acre reserve counting everything they see. They do this the same day as every other wetland reserve and the data is fed back to the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) From this data we can look at how wetland birds in the UK are doing year on year.
