Improving conditions at Welney

As water levels improve  at Welney we have now opened the dragonfly pond areas, giving views out across the washes from next to the Reedbed hide which is still currently closed.  This area is perfect for viewing good numbers of wigeon and dabbling ducks and it is also the best location to spot water rails.

Avocets are now up to 13 with flocks of black-tailed godwits now numbering 500 and Bewick's swans feeding on the washes from Friends hide even during the day.
