What better way to prepare for Christmas than by enjoying festive fun with all the family at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre this winter. With activities running every weekend in December and special Christmas events and workshops available, you’ll be able to get in the Christmas spirit among the beautiful surroundings of the scenic Burry Inlet.

Our festive weekends start on Saturday 3 December and Sunday 4 December with a special treat for crafty adults – Christmas decoration workshops! Make your home look extra special this year with your own hand-made wreaths, garlands, tree decorations and placeholders that can all be made using materials gathered in the wetlands. Book a place on either the Saturday or Sunday and spend the afternoon (1pm – 4pm) crafting your own collection of decorations.

Sunday 4 December also sees the start of a series of special “feed the birds with Santa” visits at WWT Llanelli! Little ones will love this magical experience to help Santa feed our birds every Sunday in December before Christmas at 2.45pm. Come and see if Santa will manage to feed our special, giant LEGO brick animals available to enjoy on our trail until 11 December.

For the perfect gift this Christmas, children will love to make their very own robin nest box at our drop in sessions available on Sunday 11 December and Sunday 18 December between 11am – 12pm and 1pm – 4pm. Our expert guide will give one-to-one tuition to help them make a professional box to give a robin a home this winter.

By enjoying a festive weekend with us you're also contributing towards our vital conservation work in the UK and around the world. Other activities available every weekend before Christmas include two great opportunities to see the vast, winter oasis of our wetland landscape from different perspectives and learn more from our guides at our “Telescope in the Tower” session, available 11am – 12pm every weekend and “Guide in the hide” activity at 1pm. Every Saturday and Sunday you can also enjoy making Christmas crafts at our craft corner from 2pm – 4.30pm.
