One person (over 18) can paddle our new single-seat sit-on-top kayaks.
Our canoe safaris usually take between 30 minutes and an hour. The amount of time you take will depend on how fast you paddle and how long you spend stationary watching the wildlife. It’s the same for kayaks.
The last boats launch at 3 pm each day. We kindly ask all paddlers to make their way back to the jetty by 3.45 pm at the latest.
The route to the Canoe Safari Hut is accessible and follows wide and flat paths across the reserve. You should be aware that the hut is a fair distance from the visitor centre, about a 20 minute walk. There is an accessible eco toilet next to the canoe safari hut, but please note that there is wide, gentle slope leading up to the toilet that could be difficult to get up alone. The nearest alternative accessible toilet is back at the Heron's Wing Hide, which is about 15 minutes away from the canoe safari hut.
The boats for hire are not adapted to be accessible for all users, and we apologise if this means that you can’t take part.
We’re always looking to improve accessibility. If you have suggestions based on your own needs and experience, we’d love to hear from you. Please email info.llanelli@wwt.org.uk or speak to a member of the team.
