Tickets

Is the festival included in the price of my WWT Llanelli entry ticket?

Yes! The festival is free with your entry ticket to WWT Llanelli with lots of daily activities, special headliners, and art workshops included. For those looking for something a bit different, the Canoe Safari is not included in your entry ticket price. Boat hire starts from £9.95.

Some events, like the Catch The Bug Macro Photography Workshops (which are included in your entry ticket price), need to be pre-booked so we can manage numbers. Check out our events listings on our What's on page for full details, or ask a member of the team if you’re unsure. We’re always happy to help!

Do I need to book my ticket and how do I book?

For the best value tickets, festival visitors can book online. Or you can turn up and pay on the day.

Is the festival included with my WWT membership?

I’ve heard there are reduced-price entry tickets available for people who receive certain benefits. How do I know if I’m eligible?

Reduced price tickets are open to anyone receiving the benefits specified on our website, but must be booked online in advance. These tickets are not available at our tills. The tickets are available for up to a maximum of 6 people living at the same address (including no more than 3 adults in the party). Under 3s go free and do not need to book but must be accompanied by an adult with a booked ticket. Please see our reduced-price ticket Terms and Conditions for details.

Dates and opening times

Are there activities on every day, or just on specific dates?

There is a festival line-up of activities and events that you can enjoy daily, throughout the summer from 18 July to 31 August 2026. Family favourites like the dragonfly canoe safari, pond dipping and outdoor dragonfly games are available during the school summer holidays, and for those looking for something a bit different we have headline events available during set dates. Check out our events on our What's on page for further detail or speak to a member of the team.

What times does the festival run each day?

The festival runs during opening times 9:30am – 5.00pm (last entry at 4.30pm). Find out more about our opening times. Some experiences and events run at set times and dates within our opening times. For full information about events and activities check out our What's on page.

Will the festival still go ahead if the weather is bad?

On a sunny or a soggy day, WWT Llanelli is the perfect place, with something for everyone to enjoy. Find out more about things to do come rain or shine. If we have very extreme weather, we may need to close certain elements of the experience including the grounds and canoe safari areas. Please check our Facebook page or call us on 01554 741087 on the day you intend to visit to ensure you are not disappointed.

Is there a car park at WWT Llanelli and do I need to pay for parking?

We have car parking available which all visitors to WWT Llanelli are welcome to use, free during their visit. There are no parking charges. On busy days, the overflow car parks will be available. Parking for disabled visitors can be found in the parking bay closest to the visitor centre and from there it’s a step-free route into the building. Please note that the car park opens from 9.00am and is locked every day when the centre closes at 5.00pm. Any vehicles left in the car park after 5.00pm will be locked in overnight.

Family

What family-friendly facilities do you have at WWT Llanelli?

Our festival is great for families looking to make special memories this summer. From family pond dipping and adventure play to family-friendly trails and creative workshops, there’s fun for all ages. Check our What’s On page for full details. Enjoying a visit to our wetlands is easy for families with free parking, buggy and wheelchair-friendly paths, and an accessible visitor centre with café. We also have highchairs and baby changing facilities available. There’s a well-stocked gift shop and everything needed for a great day out, whatever the weather.

Is the festival just for kids?

Our festival line-up has been designed with all ages in mind, with activities and events for everyone to enjoy. Festival goers, young and young-at-heart, are invited to come together and experience something a bit different. At the height of summer, during the school summer holidays and during weekends there will be more events and activities aimed at families. In September you’ll find more events and activities for adults to enjoy. Check out our events page for further details.

Do I need to bring anything special?

No. Any equipment needed for activities and events will be provided (unless otherwise stated). Just bring yourself, some comfy shoes, and water to drink if it’s a hot day.

Accessibility

Is the festival accessible?

Our site has free accessible car parking, buggy and wheelchair-friendly paths, and a visitor centre with accessible toilets. A mobility scooter is available to hire at a cost of £10 per day. Please call the centre on 01554 741087 ahead of your visit to check availability and reserve the scooter. We also have a group listening kit that works with hearing aids using a portable induction loop and can also offer amplification for those without hearing aids. Find out everything you need to help you plan your visit. Our friendly and welcoming team are on hand, should you have any questions before or during your visit.

Where are the toilets and are they accessible?

There are accessible toilets in the visitor centre. There are also accessible toilets in the Heron's Wing Hide and there is another accessible eco toilet next to the Canoe Safari hut - but please note that there is a wide, gentle slope leading up to the toilet that could be difficult to get up alone. We have baby changing facilities in the visitor centre and the Heron's Wing Hide.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, we can’t allow dogs or pets of any kind at WWT Llanelli. Our site is home to an array of wetland birds and mammals who can be a little shy and easily distressed by dogs and other animals. We welcome trained assistance dogs on leads but are unable to allow other dogs or animals into our car parks or around our site. Please note that there may be some areas or exhibits that trained assistance dogs cannot access due to animal welfare and/or biosecurity requirements. Please ask on arrival for details. Please do not leave your dog in your car whilst visiting.

Food and drink

Will food and drink be available?

We have a selection of hot and cold food, snacks, drinks and ice cream available for you to buy to fuel your wetland adventure. Find out more here about our café with stunning estuary views. If you’d prefer you are welcome to bring your own food to enjoy when you visit, and we have comfy indoor seating and tables available. We also have plenty of picnic areas and seating around our site, just please remember to put any rubbish in the bins provided and not to share your picnic with the wildlife.
