Anne-Marie Copeland

Conservation Breeding Aviculturist

About me

I’ve been visiting WWT Slimbridge since I was a child and I’ve always been interested in how diverse nature is. This is why I volunteered with WWT’s Conservation Breeding Unit (CBU). Learning about the projects WWT is working on and how they support and restore our wildlife has been really exciting. While volunteering with CBU I’ve helped build aviaries, maintain vegetation, assisted with catches and feeds. I’ve also volunteered with Cefntwrch wild, planting trees and removing fencing to restore an ancient woodland. I’m looking forward to starting a career in conservation with WWT.

My role

My role is to support the team on project Godwit Futures and helping to take care of any birds we have quarantining with us.
