Engagement and learning
WWT, through its wetland centres, has always been a champion of the role of communication, engagement, participation and awareness in facilitating more and better wetland conservation. Using Communication, Engagement, Participation & Awareness (CEPA) effectively can build support for wetland conservation by facilitating increased awareness of wetland values. It places people right at the heart of conservation efforts.
In addition to the work at our wetland centres, WWT is at the forefront of promoting this approach globally. Through Wetland Link International, we help wetland centres around the world to connect with each other and share skills and best practice in relation to CEPA. Through World Wetland Network we also help local and grassroots wetland conservation organisations to have more of a voice on a global stage.
