Enjoy free admission to WWT Castle Espie and National Trust Mount Stewart for a special day celebrating the wildlife, landscapes and coastal heritage of Strangford Lough.
Shorelife Celebration offers a packed programme of activities for all ages. Make your own kite, meet marine creatures in a touch tank, discover nature through a microscope and learn more about the remarkable species that call our shoreline home.
Activities include:
- Interactive workshops
- Bushcraft skills
- Fungi discovery walks
- Fossil displays
- Wildlife encounters
- Children’s crafts
- STEM story sessions
- Guided tours
There will also be a selection of pre-bookable experiences, including photography sessions, creative workshops and artist-led activities inspired by the wildlife and landscapes of Strangford Lough. Some activities may carry an additional charge.
A free shuttle bus will run between WWT Castle Espie and National Trust Mount Stewart, making it easy to experience both venues during your visit.
Strangford Lough is Northern Ireland’s largest sea lough and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with 115 miles of coastline and an incredible variety of wildlife. Shorelife Celebration is a chance to explore this special place, meet local experts and discover more about its importance for both people and nature.
The event is organised by Ards and North Down Borough Council in partnership with WWT Castle Espie and National Trust Mount Stewart.
