Recent Sightings - 15th June 2019

Still singing birds and butterflies aplenty over the bank holiday weekend! All the wonderful weather has been great for all the flying and buzzing insects, which in turn in great for the newly fledged Swallows!

Having left the nest in the roundhouse and still learning how to find food for themselves, they can often be seen begging on the bridges in the freshwater lagoon and brickworks areas. Meanwhile the parents are barely visible as they speedily zoom just above the surface of the lagoons and grasslands, with mouths agape, catching as many insects as they can for themselves and their fledglings.

Count was taken at low- mid tide.
