What family events are happening in Llanelli during December and January?

Meet The Birds Time Forgot is one of the most unusual and unique family events in Llanelli this winter. What are theropods, and how are they connected to birds?

Theropods were a group of dinosaurs that mostly walked on two legs and included famous species such as Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptor. Scientists have discovered that modern birds evolved from small feathered theropod dinosaurs, which means every bird you see today is a living descendant of this dinosaur group!

During Meet The Birds Time Forgot, you'll discover the evidence linking birds and theropods, from feathers and nests to claws, eggs and hunting behaviours. It's a fascinating way for children and adults to understand how dinosaurs never truly disappeared, they evolved into the birds we see around us today. At WWT Llanelli, you can spot modern birds and look for the dinosaur traits they still share with their ancient ancestors.
