WWT London early closure due to extreme heat
WWT London will close at 3pm (last entry at 2pm) on Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June.
We have made this decision to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff and visitors during this period of extreme heat.
Wetlands can act as a shield against extreme weather events, including heat waves, providing protection for both people and for wildlife. So, we will remain open during the cooler part of the day, so visitors can enjoy our wetlands responsibly and our staff can carry out their essential duties, caring for our animals and managing our reserves.
However, the Met Office has issued a red warning for extreme heat, with temperatures building through the day. For the safety of everyone who works at and visits our site, we will close at 3pm (last entry 2pm).
If you have booked to visit us on Wednesday or Thursday this week, admission tickets will be valid on any alternative date. If you’d prefer to receive a refund, please contact our Supporter Services team on tickets@wwt.org.uk. If you're booked onto an event, we'll be in touch via email and arrange a refund in 7 working days.
We will update this page if there are any further changes, so please do check before visiting or keep an eye on our social channels for the latest news.
