Discover more about the amazing nocturnal world of bats with an evening bat talk & walk at WWT Washington

Join our reserve team for an evening bat talk and walk where you’ll learn about British bat species, discover the work we do to help them thrive at Washington, you will start in our centre enjoying a relaxed chat over a refreshing ale (or ginger ale), then head out to Hollowood and the reservoir to search for bats using hand‑held detectors to pick up the presence of different species.

Date and time:
Sunday 13th September - 7:15pm - 9:15pm **THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED**

*This event is approximately 2-2.5 hours long in total

Cost: £15 per person (members and non-members). After-hours admission to WWT Washington Wetland Centre is included as part of this event - visitors visiting throughout the day will need to purchase admission separately - please note we cannot allow visitors to walk around site before the bat walk starts.

This is an adult only event.

What's included in my ticket: Evening admission, 1x drink, walk & talk with a guide where you will listen to bats on a bat detector.

What you'll need: Please bring a torch along with you and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Accessibility: The route uses accessible paths with level viewing points and clear signage. As this event takes place in the evening, reduced light may mean visitors with visual impairments need a little extra support.

Our team will be guiding the walk throughout, setting a comfortable pace suitable for a range of mobility and sensory needs. If you have any particular requirements or concerns, please share them with the team when you arrive.

See more information about our centres accessibility here.
