This fantastic tundra bean goose has been visible on Wader Lake since mid-March and is a site first for WWT Washington.

Our only previous (possible) sighting was in 1985, when a flock of nine ‘bean geese’ were recorded flying overhead, but it’s not known if they were taiga bean goose (N Europe) or tundra bean goose (NW Siberia) and they didn’t land.

These photographs were kindly donated by WWT member Denis Howarth.
