Time: 10am-4pm
Cost: £80 per person. Booking essential. Lunch included.
Join Sue to create your first linocut artwork and small edition of prints, or develop your lino cut printing skills if you have a little experience already.
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience of linocut printing, the day’s workshop is informal and relaxed with lots of support and guidance. Working in a single colour (although a variety of colours will be available to explore). We’ll be using light, shade, line and texture to explore our print ideas and develop a range of mark marking techniques and skills, before creating a final piece and a small edition of prints (A5 size).
The day involves:- 9.30am WWT Welney opens to the public
- 10am arrival and welcome in our Pond Room
- 10.05-10.55am Guided walk around WWT Welney
- 11am Begin workshop with Sue in Pond Room (refreshments available)
- 1pm Lunch provided in room
- Finish between 3.30/4pm
- Cafe open until 4.30pm
- WWT Welney open until 5pm
What's included:
All specialist materials, tools, support and guidance.
What to bring:
Wear old clothes or bring along an old shirt/apron to protect clothing. Printing is inevitably messy!
Any inspirational images or ideas you would like to develop as prints. You could also take inspiration from our wetlands with the guided tour, or Sue can help provide some ideas if you are not sure where to start.
The workshop takes place in our warm and well-lit pond room with views out onto bird feeders and wetlands beyond. Lunch and morning refreshments are included, the Wigeon cafe is open until 4.30pm if you would like to end the day with a relaxing drink on the first floor.
