Daily Sightings
The reserves looking fantastic this morning, with relatively low water levels drawing in large flocks of ducks around all the hides. No sign of the reported green-winged teal from yesterday yet though but a noticeable increase in goldeneye with up to 10 this morning including 4 very smart males.
Over 500 whooper swans at last nights floodlit feed and still an impressive flight in between main observatory and Reedbed hide.
Elsewhere the rough-legged buzzard is still hanging around Lady Fen and the surrounding arable fields.
Daily Hare Walks! - Lady Fen appears to be bursting with hares at the moment with 13 seen in just one field on our first hare walk of the year on Friday. Hare walks are running at 1pm everyday until the 4th of January after which they will be every Monday, Thursday and Saturday until the end of February.
