Building up the nest in the sun
There has been quite a bit of activity this morning on the osprey nest. Both birds have been taking turns in sitting and in bringing in more sticks. At one point the male brought in a huge stick which they had to move together to the side of the nest, each one holding an end of the stick in their beak in a true Chuckle brothers 'to me - to you' moment. It maybe that they know that hatching is less than a week away now and they are making sure that the sides of the nest are built up to shelter the chicks. It is a great day for a bit of nest DIY as we have blue skies and warm sunshine. A chance to dry out from the downpour last Saturday.
