Centre closure

We’re making some changes to how we operate, so we can make sure our wetland sites thrive in the future. To help us make time to prepare for these changes, the site will be closed temporarily, from Wednesday 12 November until Tuesday 18 November. You can find out what this means for you here.

Whooper Pond webcam

In spring and summer, lookout for black headed gulls who might be using the purpose-built raft to breed. Watch for aerial acrobatics of swallows and house martins as they catch insects in flight.

In autumn and winter, enjoy our whooper swans as they return from their Icelandic migrations and go about their daily life. Pick out family groups and observe their social interactions.

Other species frequent the pond too: from wigeon and tufted ducks to herons and egrets. You might even be lucky and spot an otter or two!
