No wetlands. No fairytale ending.

Donate to keep amphibians safe

Minimum £2

Help us urgently raise £50,000 to protect frogs, toads and newts this spring.

Frogs and toads have always filled our fairy tales and story books with magic. But right now they’re not filling our ponds and wetlands like they used to.

In fact, nearly half of all UK amphibians are now at risk of extinction from threats like climate change and deadly water pollution. Will you help them fight back?

We have an emergency plan to restore UK wetlands, protect ponds and give amphibians the fairytale ending they deserve. But we need to raise £50,000 this spring to put it into action. Please give now.

How your donation will protect amphibians

£20 could support running a school session for children to learn about ponds and the wonderful wildlife that lives within them.

£50 could pay for tools like spades, rakes, and buckets needed when restoring a small pond for amphibians.

£125 could contribute to a WWT member meeting a farmer for a morning and advising on creating ponds within their land.

We can change the story for the UK’s frogs, toads and newts – but there isn’t a second to waste.

"Climate change is hitting frogs, toads and newts from every angle. Ponds are turning to dust in the summer. Hibernating amphibians are waking up too early in warmer winters – before the food they rely on is available. We have to act now."
