Migration season at Wader Lake

I have just been watching the wonderful array of wading and wildfowl birds down at Wader Lake.

During the migration season it’s a constant changing picture, with different birds coming and going as they refuel for their incredible journeys.

Look carefully at our more common wading birds and you may spot the more unusual ones among them.

As well as the regular lapwing, redshank, curlew and snipe, today has also seen dunlin, green sandpiper, black-tailed godwit and ruff make appearances.
