Recent sightings - 10th August

The following sightings were recorded by Toni Castello, Senior Reserve Warden

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Tufted duck 9, Coot 11, Mallard 240, Wigeon 1, Black-headed gull 1.

Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog

Mallard 13, Tufted duck 2, Wigeon 1, Mute swan 2 adults + 5 cygnets, Little grebe 1, Gadwall 1.

Limestone lake - visible from the viewpoint in the woodland area

Little grebe 1 juvenile.

Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory

Curlew 4, Oystercatcher 120, Great cormorant 6, Black-headed gull 8, Eider 2, Lesser black-backed gull 1.

Peninsula field - visible from Limekiln observatory

1 Ringed plover nesting (we're still waiting for the potential hatching of some chicks!).

Goldfinch 3, Chaffinch 2, Blue tit 3, Great tit 4, Goldcrest 1 juvenile, Housemartin 2.
