Road Closure Notice

Recent Sightings - 12th March 2018

A very noisy morning here at Castle Espie, with lots of black-headed gulls preparing for breeding season! The following sightings were recorded today at high tide:

Pair of black-headed gulls courting cr. Stan Madams

Estuary – visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Brent goose 71, Black-headed gull 79, Shelduck 23, Eider duck 31, Knot 6

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Black-headed gull 171, Lesser black-backed gull 2, Mallard 72, Cormorant 4, Greylag 1, Tufted duck 14, Moorhen 3, Coot 2, Oystercatcher 1

Wader marsh – visible from the lookout and the Brent Hide
