Recent Sightings 19th February 2018

A mild morning here at Castle Espie. The following sightings were recorded today at low tide:

Estuary – visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Shelduck 38, Little egret 2, Brent 68, Oystercatcher 120, Wigeon 40, Lesser black-backed gull 1, Eider 33, Knot ~300, Common gull 2, Curlew 3

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Common goldeneye 1, Mallard 82, Greylag 2, Coot 2, Tufted duck 22, Shoveler 2, Moorhen 6, Black-headed gull 16, Cormorant 3

Wader marsh – visible from the lookout and the Brent Hide

Mallard 2, Moorhen 10, Teal 18, Redshank 4, Black-headed gull 1

Freshwater Lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannóg
