Recent sightings - 24th July

Toni Castello Limekiln

The following sightings were recorded by Toni Castello, Senior Reserve Warden

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Tufted duck 11, Greylag 11 adults + 11 goslings, Coot 7, Mallard 162.

Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide

Shelduck 2.

Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog

Coot 4, Mute swan 2 ad. + 5 cygnets.

Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory

Common seal: 21 (still on a little island in the middle of Strangford Lough!), Curlew 77, Oystercatcher 223, Lesser Black-backed gull 2, Herring gull 1, Great cormorant 15, Shelduck 9, Mute swan 10, Little egret 1.

Tufted 1, Little grebe 2.
