Recent Sightings 29th January 2018

A cold but bright and sunny morning on the reserve. The following sightings were recorded today at high tide from Castle Espie:

Estuary – visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Teal 3, Brent goose 4, Shelduck 171, Knot 40, Oystercatcher ~700, Black-tailed godwit 6, Curlew 4, Shoveler 9

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Cormorant 3, BHG 32, Lesser black-backed gull 1, Mallard 104, Tufted duck 32, Gadwall 2, Moorhen 7

Wader marsh – visible from the lookout and the Brent Hide

Black-headed gull 3, Teal 18, Redshank 3, Moorhen 2

Freshwater Lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannóg

Mallard 40, Coot 3, Mute swan 1, Tufted duck 3, Moorhen 7, Grey heron 1

Saline Lagoon – visible from Lime Kiln Observatory

Greenshank 1

Limestone Lake
