Recent sightings - 2nd June

The following sightings were recorded today, near high tide.

Estuary

Black-headed Gull 25, Grey heron 1.

Main lake - visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Mallard 30, Coot 4, Tufted duck 6, Shoveler 1, Little grebe 1, Black-headed gull +200. One Kingfisher was observed yesterday here.

Wadermarsh - visible from Wadermarsh lookout and Brent Hide

Redshank 5, Black-tailed godwit 5, Oystercatcher +200, Shelduck 2, Black-headed gull 20, Greylag 3 adults and 2 goslings.

Freshwater Lagoon - visible from Brent Hide and Crannog

Mallard 16 (two families with ducklings among them), Tufted duck 3,  Mute swan 2, Shelduck 2 adults & 7 ducklings, Coot 2 families, with 1 and 4 chicks, respectively, Gadwall 1, Black-headed gull +350, Swallow 1.

Saline Lagoon - visible from the Saline Lagoon lookout and Limekiln observatory

Black-headed gull 11, Tufted 3. A presumable pair of Red-breasted merganser has been visiting this area during the last few days. Two Common tern were back in the island, after being away for a few days

Peninsula Marsh - Visible from the Peninsula Marsh lookout

Black-headed gull 2, Shelduck 2, Reed bunting 1 female, Sedge warbler 1:

Limestone Lake - Visible from the Limestone Pavillion and the Woodland lookout

Mallard 2, Black-headed gull 1, Little grebe 1.

Blackcap 2, Wren 4, Coal tit 1, Chaffinch 1, Robin 2, Blue tit 1, Goldcrest 2.
