Recent sightings 24th - 27th November

Huge variety of species seen, ranging from Hen Harrier to Meadow Pipit and everything in between!

Seen on the saline lagoons recently include 150 Black-tailed Godwit, 56 Curlew, 161 Lapwing and 8 Redshank. 3 Avocet have also been seen feeding on the lagoons over the last couple of days. Huge numbers of Shelduck have been seen from the hide out towards the estuary - 483, and back on the lagoons have been Wigeon, Tufted Duck, Mallard and two Red-breasted Merganser. 2 White-fronted Geese were spotted on Sunday, as well as Hen Harrier and a Great White Egret.

On the freshwater lagoon have been good numbers of Shelduck, Teal, Tufted Duck, Mallard and 3 Pintail.

Millennium Wetlands

Spotted on deep water lake recently have been Shoveler, Tufted Duck, Teal, Gadwall and Kingfisher. Plenty of Water Rail can be heard and occasionally seen around the site so keep your eyes peeled. Other birds spotted around the wetlands include Meadow Pipit, Reed Bunting, Redwing, Bullfinch and Cetti's Warbler.
